Dictionary Item usefulness in MITS?
« on: April 13, 2016, 09:01:47 AM »
MITS is very flexible and allows the use of file dictionary items.
BUT, if the dictionary item is a derived field will it work in MITS?
Does a new dictionary item like this have to be added in the MITS build.

You can certainly use derived fields.  You may need some extra coding to use them as a parameter in your cube.  For example, we use the REGION field from our SALESMAN file to group Sales.  I don't remember if MITS had to do something special to get that set up.

We have used derived fields in Reports as well.  We have a derived field from our CUSTOMER file on a Sales report.

(We're also a Prelude shop... Your Mileage May Vary...)
