Report Writer to Excel
« on: June 06, 2013, 04:28:48 PM »
I understand how to add Excel as an Output Option in Report Writer...
OUTPUT.REDIRECT,E
But, is there a way to send the report directly to Excel without giving the other options?

I love it when I answer my own questions.  LOL

Instead of using...
OUTPUT.REDIRECT,E
use instead
P:(@PARMS(13)<26,10>=”Y”;@WORK<26,10>=”Y”;@WORK<26,5>=”L”)

You will not be prompt for output and the output will go directly to Excel.    :D

Correction:  My original discovery worked once but the following works all the time.
Instead of using   OUPUT.REDIRECT,E
call a process that sets the forced value; "L" is for Excel but you can force any setting you need.

@WORK<26,5> = "L"
@RTN.FLAG = "L"
@WORK<12,13> = "LAUNCH.REPORT"
EXEC "OUTPUT.REDIRECT,E"
