Kevin's Voting Guidelines
« on: October 27, 2010, 10:44:37 am »
Hey, y'all might not care too much, but here's my guidelines for voting in the 2010 election:

a) If a politician spends more on political ads than they will earn in office, they clearly do not understand basic budgeting and economics and should not be trusted with our money;

b) If a politician attacks another person in their pursuit of an office, they will likely attack us - we the people - once elected;

c) Any politician who accepts money for their campaign cannot be trusted to represent anybody beyond their financiers.  And by the way, has anyone else noticed that "campaign" is a term typically used for waging war?

If there is anybody left over, vote for them.  And if there is nobody left over, vote for Snoopy, Garfield, or vote for everyone to invalidate your ballot.  It's time we stand up for basic human dignity and representation from our elected officials.

* When someone has to 'sell' their program to the public, the program can't be good.
* When we have to wait until after it is passed, to find out what's in it, the law can NOT be good.
* When a VP doesn't know the difference between billion and million, they shouldn't be elected.

I could go on and on, but you get the point.

Agreed on all points.  We seriously need a revolution.

Saw a related bumper sticker today.

"Politicians should dress like NASCAR drivers.  At least that way we'd know who their corporate sponser are."

Do not forget about the UNION sponsors, SEIU and the like.  I hear they spend a lot more more than corporations.  As they always say, sunshine is the best disinfectant.
